CHIRAG AGRI VENTURES (P) LTD. organized a one day conference- cum- exhibition Arm Strength Food Show 2016 on 26th June at Monte Cristo in Ahmedabad, Gujarat State with the kind support of Akhil Gujarat Rice Mill Owners Association and promoted by Riceoutlook Magazine. The conference was inaugurated by the Honorable Cabinet Minister (Higher and Technical Education, Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Science and Technology) of Gujarat Mr Bhupendrasinh Chudasama. Aim of this conference was to reduce irrelevant processes and to search out ways to increase profitability of rice industry in Gujarat State in particularly.


Food Show provided a face to face platform for the rice machinery manufacturers with the Gujarat Rice Millers and to other rice professionals to discuss their specific requirements. In this conference, rice expert from different parts of the country participated. In the food show Mr. Ajay Sharma (MD of Lama Rice Pvt. Ltd.), gave his talk about  Global Riceoutlook and overall rice exports from India, Mr. Sujit Pandey (Global Product Manager, Buhler India Pvt Ltd) presented his talk on Rice Processing, Mr Dinesh Chhatra (AGM – Rice Procurement, Supply Chain, Adani Wilmar Ltd.) shared his view on  Rice Crop Revolution By Narmada and Future of Rice industry after Narmada and Mr. Rajdurai Swamikesavan (General Manager- Marketing, Milltec Machinery Pvt. Ltd.) also shared his new innovations of converting rice husk ash to Silica.


The speaker from Agricultural University Dr. Girish Chandel (Professor- Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur) delivered his presentation with regard to research and development of new varieties of rice and their health benefits. In addition, there was also a fruitful discussion at the end of the sessions about how to increase paddy production in view of Narmada Dam in Gujarat. Keeping in view the discussion, it was recommended that there are bright prospects and scope for rice cultivation and rice processing into value added products in Gujarat.


Since Gujarat is a marginal contributor to India’s overall annual rice production and tops the list of states having the least distorted rice markets, so, there is a need to establish “state of the art” milling machinery in Gujarat. In the food show, 20 Companies from different corner of the world participated and more than 450 Rice Millers of Gujarat attended the Conference.
