Myanmar has been provided with 175,544 tonnes of rice worth 167.69 million USD by the United Nations World Food Programme( WFP) till 2015. The aim of this agency is to help the poor and people short of food on Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan, Kayin and Yangon.

On April 10, the WFP and the Myanmar Ministry of Border Affairs have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the swift response to disasters, recovering and raising the socio-economic position of residents in conflicted areas, access to better education and manage with malnutrition in people with HIV and pulmonary diseases.
