As per latest report, it has been revealed by the Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya on Wednesday said that ministry has allocated 10,000 metric tonnes of rice and Tk 6 crore for the flood-affected people of 11 districts. In addition, some 10,000 metric tonnes of rice and Tk 6 crore have already been allocated for the flood victims; however, all will get the relief gradually as it has been told to the reporters after the fourth session of the second day’s DCs’ Conference 2016 held at the Secretariat.
Further, in this matter, it has also been narrated that the people who got marooned and have taken shelter in relief centers are being provided with dry foods and pure drinking water. Moreover, it has also been asked to the DCs to distribute the relief items among the affected people very soon. Further, it has also been told them that there is no lack of relief items and we shall allocate more, whenever necessary, as emphasized by Mr Maya. In addition, it was also informed that the ministry has identified 21 districts as cyclone-prone, and it will also construct 220 more shelter centers. Besides, it has prepared various teams of 55,000 volunteers in coastal areas to work during natural disasters.
