The Vietman Food Association (VFA) has reported decrease by 24.11% in export volume and value loss was 30.52% (FOB) and 16.42% (CIF) due to lack of demand from the traditional markets.

The rice export was mainly to Philippines under contract, but declined majorly in China and Africa. But, both are looking forward for the winter-spring crops.

The VFA has estimated around 300,000-500,000 tonnes of rice are expected to be exported in February.Rice Export  price in January was steady at US$405-401 per tonne for 5% broken rice, and was similar as India but higher than from Thailand and Pakistan.

As per the VFA forecast, the current price is US$395 per tonne but will tend to degrade when the winter-spring crop in the Mekong Delta comes near.
