According to the sources, it has been reported that the Italian Parliament approved an amendment to the Domestic Stability law, which allows for the allocation of 2 million euros (about $ 2.186 millions) for 2016 and 5 million euros (about $ 5.465 millions) by 2017 in favor of the National Fund for the most deprived persons. Further, the amendment will now increase resources for the European Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD) 2016 to around 72 million euros (about $ 78.696 millions). The FEAD supports EU countries’ actions to provide material assistance to the most deprived. This includes food, clothing and other essential items for personal use, e.g. shoes, soap and shampoo. In addition, the Ente Nazionale Risi (ENR), the National Agency for rice, the FEAD spent about 6.8 million euros (about $ 7.432 millions) to buy rice for needy people in 2015. The new amendment is expected to facilitate the FEAD to spend more amounts this year to buy rice and distribute to needy people.
