India’s state run trader MMTC Ltd invites a tender for delivery of 10,000 tonnes of rice for eastern state of Manipur, Mizoram.

Although India is the world’s largest rice exporter but still sometime it requires to import the rice due to poor transportation facility to ship the food grains like rice, wheat to interior areas in northeast India,

The tender invites the delivery of 25 per cent broken white rice from overseas market between October 15 to November 15, Closing date for tender was September 23 which now extended to October 9.

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Secretary R. Lalvena said that Tender being floated for import of rice from neighbouring Myanmar to Mizoram was extended for the second time till October nine, state today.

The extension of tender is due to the revision of additional condition for food safety, by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

Another state run trader, State Trading Corporation invites tender for the delivery of 25 per cent broken white rice for delivery in the eastern state of Manipur.
