According to the reliable sources, it has been reported that a team of officials from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and ministry of agriculture, led by the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele and Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe, visited Kebbi State in last week to assess the progress of the dry season rice and wheat farming run under the CBN Anchor Borrowers scheme.
Further, it has been indicated that while Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was conducting the federal government representatives around some rice and wheat farms in about eight villages in Augie, Suru and Argungu in the local government areas of the state. However, the CBN governor could not hold back his joy as farmers trouped out in their large numbers to show their appreciation to the government for capturing them in the Anchor Borrowers programme.
Furthermore, in this regard, it was also said that this visit is to confirm whether the purpose for which the President came to Kebbi State in November last year is yielding result or not. Meanwhile, it was emphasized that I am thankful to God and as well show his appreciation to President Buhari for bringing us to Kebbi to launch the Pilot Phase of the dry season wheat and rice farming. It was also narrated that we will go back with good news for the President that it was 100 percent successful in Kebbi State.
