The BPL card holders of Dakshina Kannada disrict of Karnataka, will get an option to choose from the parboiled rice and raw rice from the ration shops from august this year.
This was due to the demand of some ration card holder who wanted only the parboiled rice. But several card holders protected for this as they claim that
The parboiled rice if cooked in the morning remains well till noon only but the local parboiled rice remains fresh till d end of day so they had expressed their dislike for the parboiled rice supplied in ration shops.
