The Agrarian Development Institute (IDA) in central Huambo province in Angola wants to invest massively in the production of rice this year, hence pursuing to expand the farming activities and boost productivity.

The head of the institution, Xavier Joao Abrantes, who talked to Angop on Monday, said, “that 99 tons of seeds are prepared for this season, 69 of which resulting from the previous agricultural season and 30 purchased this year”.

The official said that IDA is organizing the registration of farmers keen to involve themselves in the culture of rice in latest agricultural practices.
