According to the sources that an Italian conference scheduled to be held on September 17, 2015 at the Lodi Technology Park near Pavia will demonstrate the use and benefits of drip irrigation technique in rice production. The drip irrigation technique is well known to lead to significant results in terms of production, environmental and water saving.
It has been revealed that the conference basically aims to educate and to encourage farmers to shift from the current drowning technique to drip irrigation technique. In addition, it also demonstrates several tests conducted in recent years in Italy, Turkey, Spain and Ukraine. A demo field will also be set up in front of the building of the Technology Park for this purpose.
In this context, several experts on the them including Bas Bauman, researcher of the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines; Elazar Cohen, commissioner of the pavilion EXPO2015 of Israel and Roberto Magnaghi, Director of the National Agency for Rice will participate in the conference.
